Prime Minister doorstops in Googong
Prime Minister Scott Morrison visited Googong last week for a quick sausage sizzle as part of his 2019-20 Budget roadshow.
The Prime Minister’s visit included a press conference about the Government’s $525million commitment to vocational education and training (VET). The funding will deliver 80,000 new apprenticeships over five years — including bricklayers, carpenters and plumbers — as well as financial incentives for employers and trainees.

The Prime Minister was accompanied by the Minister for Small and Family Business, Skills and Vocational Education, Senator Michaelia Cash, along with Senator Jim Molan and Liberal Candidate for Eden-Monaro Fiona Kotvojs.
Thanks to Vogue Constructions, members of the Googong Builders’ Guild, and our civil works contractor, Huon, for hosting the doorstop.
Googong is a rapidly growing master planned community being jointly developed by Peet and Mirvac. Located 16 kilometres from Canberra, inside the New South Wales border, the new township is home to more than 3,500 residents and will ultimately include 6,500 new homes around a major civic and commercial centre.
