Military mental health support - 2016 to 2019
Art is the base of rehabilitation through the Military Art Program Australia (MAPA), which helps military personnel deal with issues that come from active service.
Peet is proud to support the work of the not-for-profit independent MAPA, which provides free art classes and other services for current and former serving Defence Force personnel in a relaxed and open environment.
Our support is part of a proud tradition our founder, James Thomas Peet, initiated in the 1900s as he supported the war effort and those who fought so bravely as they re-established themselves at home when they returned.
Working Alongside our frontline personnel - 2016 to 2019
Alongside is expanding its education, support and community network for defence and emergency services personnel, thanks to a three-year partnership agreement with Peet.
The not-for-profit organisation offers its services and support to the 103,000 Defence and 400,000 Emergency Services personnel who serve on Australia’s frontline, as well as their families. Their services extend from recruitment through to discharge and beyond.
Like Peet, Alongside operates nation-wide which ensures wherever people are posted, support and services are there.
10 years with Anglicare - 2016 to 2019
For more than a decade, Peet has worked with Anglicare WA to help the most marginalised and vulnerable members of the community – raising millions of dollars in the process.
The Peet Big Lunch for Kids, Op Shop Ball and Suitcase of Hope program and Central Park Plunge are among the fundraising initiatives that not only raise vital funds but awareness for Anglicare’s vital work across Western Australia.
Legacy continues across the ages - 2017
Junior Legatees and current serving combat veterans will come together to walk the Kokoda Track in Papua New Guinea in August 2017, with the backing and support of Peet.
The Operation Legacy Australia Kokoda Challenge (OLAKC) 2017 is a leadership development opportunity for the Legatees/wards, and a chance for combat veterans to support the Legatees while working through any of their own issues.
Peet is supporting the event as part of our 120th year sponsorship program, which has backed three different yet equally worthwhile organisations which support Australian defence and emergency personnel and their families.
