Doors open at Lakelands Shopping Centre
The new Lakelands Shopping Centre opened its doors to hundreds of waiting shoppers on Wednesday 21 June and is now the largest shopping centre between Mandurah and Rockingham south of Perth.
The 20,000sqm centre is anchored by Coles, K-Mart and ALDI and boasts more than 40 specialty stores.
The giant 5,000sqm Coles supermarket includes a bakery, deli, seafood and fresh fruit and vegetable department. The 6,000sqm Kmart store offers the retailer’s full range of products and the 1,600sqm ALDI store delivers its unique mix of groceries and specialty items.
In addition to the big brand names, the new Lakelands Shopping Centre also offers a great mix of retailers including a newsagency, nail bar, pharmacy, local fruit and vegetable shop, patisserie, surf shop, clothing shops, gift shops and more.
It is also much more than a shopping centre – it’s a community space providing a wide range of services with a childcare centre, library, a range of medical professionals, travel agency, restaurants, cafes, fast food outlets, beauty salons and even a 24/7 gym.
The new $50 million centre has been developed for property investors ISPT Retail Australia Property Trust and built by Focus Building Company Pty Ltd and has created more than 1,000 full time and part time jobs.
