Federal HomeBuilder Extension
On 17 April 2021, the Federal Government announced that the construction commencement requirement for its Homebuilder program is being extended from six months to 18 months for all existing applicants.
This extension is good news for all and helps ease the growing pressure for homebuyers and provides the additional time required to ease current labour and supply constraints.
Under the new timelines, all existing Homebuilder applicants will be provided with an extra 12 months to commence construction from the date their building contract was signed.
Full details are available on the Government’s Homebuilder website and we suggest you speak with your builder to discuss the specifics of what these changes mean for you and your build.
