Celebrating Forrestdale Primary School!
Hilbert Park was pleased to join with neighbouring Peet community The Avenue to support Forrestdale Primary School's recent 40th anniversary celebration - with the event attracting thousands of people from the community, including students, family members and staff from the very first year group back in 1978, through to this year's cohort.
The event started with a welcome to country and smoking ceremony to open the recently installed story circle. The live entertainment continued throughout the day, with the sounds of the didgeridoo, school choir, classic orchestra, and jazz and Irish dance offering something to suit everyone.
A wide range of stalls kept the bargain hunters happy, while the petting farm, snake handling and insect displays, monster truck and battlezone laser tag all proved popular.
A highlight for all ages were the rows of display boards showcasing 40 years of school photos and the travelling theatre wagon displaying some of the many awards accumulated by the school over the years.
School Principle Wayne Bariolo said it was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate an important milestone for the school.
"I'd like to say a very big thank you to the community, and the organisations that they supported the school - in its first 40 years, at the Fabulous Forrestdale Fortieth Fair and who will continue to support us into the future," said Mr. Bariolo.
