Location
Surprisingly, you don’t have to travel far for a town with this much natural beauty right on its doorstep. In fact, Googong is just a 25-minute drive from the centre of Canberra.
Masterplan
Googong is a self-contained town located on a picturesque site overlooking the Molonglo Ranges near the Googong Dam on Old Cooma Road in New South Wales.
Infrastructure
Googong will eventually be home to around 18,000 people, so it is understandable that a lot of infrastructure will be deliverd over time as the population grows. But there is a significant amount of infrastructure in place now for 5000+ Googonians who already live here.
Club Googong
Club Googong sits in the heart of the first neighbourhood overlooking Beltana Park, and was the original meeting place for residents when it first opened in 2014.
Shops
Most of the five neighbourhoods that make up the township of Googong will have a local shopping centre. The first of these, Googong North Village Centre, opened in 2018 with an IGA supermarket and more.
Schools
There are two primary and two secondary schools planned for Googong. The Anglican School Googong is now open with students from Early Learning through to Year 9 and will grow each year till it goes through to Year 12. Our Place Googong takes children from 6 months to six years.
Community
We know the importance of a tight-knit community. That’s why we hired a Community Development Manager to help get people together. We do our best to help new residents form social networks and get local sporting and social groups up and running.
Parks and playgrounds
Googong already has three playing fields, eight playgrounds, two dog parks and two tennis courts, with so much more to come!
Googong Dam and Foreshores
Googonians are fortunate to live surrounded by the natural environment and on the doorstep of the spectacular Googong Dam and Foreshores.
