PLANS UNVEILED FOR ANGLICAN SCHOOL GOOGONG

Wednesday, 14 August, 2013

Plans for the Anglican School Googong were unveiled today by the Bishop of Canberra and Goulburn, Stuart Robinson, and Mayor of Queanbeyan, Tim Overall.

Architecturally designed by award winning Canberra firm Munns Sly Moore Architects, stage one of the co-educational facility will include an early learning centre and at least the beginning years of a primary school, which is expected to open for the start of the 2015 school year. (The actual year levels to open may be subject to enrolment enquiry so you may wish to express your interest via their survey, which is available here.) A high school will also be built in the coming years.

The facility will eventually accommodate up to 1100 students across all educational levels and will feature contemporary learning environments, a student hub, library, hall, basketball courts, outdoor amphitheatre and buildings that will incorporate environmentally sustainable principles.

It will be built and operated by the Diocese of Canberra and Goulburn and work is set to commence in early 2014.

The concept plans are available here.
