Flagstone City Centre
The new regional city of Flagstone will be a dynamic commercial hub for residents and businesses in the Greater Flagstone region and a main source of employment for locals.
The 100 hectare development will feature all the services and amenities of a major regional centre with approximately 370,000m² of commercial and retail floor space. It will incorporate a major shopping complex comparable in size to the Logan Hyperdome or Westfield Garden City.
The central business district design will flow seamlessly through different precincts, which have been structured to guide planning and investment and ensure consistent development of the centre over time. The contemporary design will place great importance on pedestrian comfort and movement between retail quadrants and will incorporate central meeting spaces, cafes and civic services.
Attractive streetscapes will provide easy access for pedestrians and cyclists during the day and evening, while designer landmarks and key buildings will define each character zone.
The future Flagstone station will be an important transit plaza and interchange between rail and bus services linking to local neighbourhoods. One of the first elements to be constructed will be a road bridge over the railway line connecting Flagstone CBD with the existing residential development at Flagstone Rise.
