Commercial & Industrial at Flagstone
Greater Flagstone has been earmarked as one of the most important growth zones in South-East Queensland. Over the next 30-50 years thousands of people will come to live, work and learn in the district creating a strong local workforce and growing demand for all kinds of goods and services.
The Flagstone masterplan is designed to build a strong and self-reliant local economy. A 100 hectare central business district is planned with major retail and commercial spaces, mixed industry, health and educational services, entertainment and recreational outlets. This will be the central business centre for the whole Greater Flagstone region, providing support for adjacent industrial and residential areas, and employment for an estimated 10,000 people. In addition, 80-100 hectares of industrial land will be the economic backbone of Flagstone, with potential to create 30,000 jobs. Efficient transport, including a future passenger rail service, will reduce travel time and costs while modern infrastructure and services will help minimise overheads and actively encourage emerging industries.
A development scheme has been approved by the Queensland State Government to give the market long-term confidence in construction over the next 20-25 years and planning is well advanced to ensure the core infrastructure is in place to support this major business hub.
