Local little athletes are all kitted out
and ready to go!
Hilbert Park and The Avenue communities are proud to support local junior sport through a new partnership with Forrestdale Little Athletics.
The communities have provided valuable support to the club for the purchase of smart new shirts for its 63 junior members - all aged from five to 17.
Club Secretary Tina Blackhall said the club had experienced some problems in producing new shirts for the upcoming athletics season and was delighted with the support.
“Two of our previous orders for shirts had gone completely wrong so we are very grateful that Hilbert Park and The Avenue have come to the rescue and helped us get smart new kit for all our members. They look really good!”
Ms Blackhall said the club, which is entering its sixth season, plays an important role in teaching local kids to be active and healthy, and to be good sports on and off the field.
The club is not-for-profit and part of Little Athletics WA, drawing its members from Forrestdale, Kelmscott and Armadale areas.
It currently trains twice a week at Forrestdale Primary School and competes every Saturday against more than 200 other participants from nearby Little Athletics clubs. The new 2018-2019 season starts in September and will run through the summer until March next year.
The group are also keen fundraisers, holding regular sausages sizzles at local markets and venues including the Creative Community Markets in Kelmscott and Bunning’s Armadale.
Keep an eye out for them – you can spot them by their smart green club shirts!
