Magdalena, her husband Quinton and their two adult sons, moved from Johannesburg to Australia eight months ago. Besides a brief stay in a city apartment hotel, the family have lived in Burns Beach ever since. While they are currently living in a rental in the coastal suburb, they have recently bought a 450sqm block, and already building their dream home.
"We'll be so close to the beach - we can see it from our new house. Yes, we have ocean views; we can't wait to move into it," Magdalena said.
"We really enjoy living in Burns Beach, it's clean, it's safe, it's near the beautiful beach and my boys enjoy it - they go to the beach very often.
"It's a nice community, a friendly community and some of our neighbours have become friends.
"It is really lovely here, we are still getting used to the beauty of the place to be honest!"

Scottish-born Veronica and Joe Malone and their dog Charlie have found the perfect spot in Burns Beach to build their dream home.
“Every so often we would drive around and found that although there were lots of building works taking place, the area itself looked well cared for. It has nice avenues as well as great street appeal,” said Veronica.
The couple, who fell in love with Perth nine years ago, knew it suited their lifestyle and was close to their only son, Craig, his wife Sali and their daughter Sofia, so snapped up a 450sqm lot where they plan to build a double-storey home.

Burns Beach is not far from Tapping, where Rob, Sarah and son Harlie (6) are currently living, and ticked all the right boxes when it came to choosing the perfect place to build a new house.
“Burns Beach was a good choice for us since it’s only five or six minutes from Harlie’s school so we won’t have to move him from the school that he likes,” said Rob. “We also like to keep active and with the beach and numerous parks at Burns Beach it will be easy to keep our lifestyle a healthy one.”
